Terms of Service
Effective 16 August 2026 · Questions: support@thesportsdesk.app
These terms govern your use of The Sports Desk at thesportsdesk.app. The short version: we provide statistical estimates, not predictions or betting advice; subscriptions are non-refundable; and you are responsible for your own decisions.
1. Who we are and what this covers
The Sports Desk (“we”, “us”) operates a fantasy football analytics service at thesportsdesk.app (the “Service”). By accessing the Service, creating an account, or purchasing a subscription, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, whichever is higher, to create an account or purchase a subscription. Where the Service references daily fantasy or sports wagering products operated by third parties, those products carry their own age and jurisdictional restrictions — commonly 21+ — and it is your responsibility to comply with them.
3. What the Service is — and is not
The Service produces statistical estimates derived from publicly available data. Projections, rankings, ownership figures, leverage scores, simulations and backtests are model outputs. They are probabilistic and frequently wrong in any individual case.
The Service is expressly not:
- Betting, wagering, or gambling advice
- Financial, investment, tax or legal advice
- A guarantee, warranty or prediction of any outcome
- An offer to accept wagers or to broker any wager
Engine names used within the product describe methodology and do not imply any affiliation with, or endorsement by, any investment fund, firm or financial institution.
4. Accounts
You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping access to your email secure — sign-in uses one-time links sent to your address, so anyone with access to that inbox can access your account. Notify us at support@thesportsdesk.app if you believe your account has been compromised. You may not share, resell or transfer account access.
5. Subscriptions, billing and renewal
Paid tiers are billed in advance through our payment processor on a recurring basis until cancelled. By subscribing you authorise recurring charges to your payment method at the then-current price.
- Auto-renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period.
- Cancellation. You may cancel at any time. Access continues until the end of the period you have already paid for.
- No refunds. Payments are non-refundable, including for partial periods and unused access. See our Refund Policy for the full terms and the limited statutory exceptions.
- Price changes. We will give at least 30 days’ notice by email before any price increase applies to your renewal.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Scrape, crawl, bulk-download or systematically extract data from the Service except through an API plan we have granted you in writing
- Redistribute, resell, sublicense or publish our projections or model outputs without a licence
- Reverse engineer the Service, or attempt to derive our models beyond what we publish voluntarily
- Circumvent tier gating, rate limits, authentication or paywalls
- Interfere with the Service’s operation, or use it to break any law or any third party’s terms
7. Third-party data and intellectual property
The Service incorporates data from third-party sources including Sleeper, ESPN, nflverse and CollegeFootballData. That data remains the property of its owners and is used subject to their terms. Team names, logos, player names and league marks belong to their respective owners.
The Sports Desk is an independent product. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the National Football League, the NCAA, any member club or institution, or any sportsbook or daily fantasy operator.
Our own software, model design, written content and branding remain our property. Your subscription grants a limited, revocable, non-exclusive licence to use the Service for your personal, non-commercial purposes.
8. Availability
The Service depends on third-party data feeds we do not control. Feeds change format, rate-limit, or go offline without notice. We do not warrant uninterrupted availability, and we do not guarantee that any projection will be published before any particular kickoff.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or exemplary damages, or for any lost profits, lost contest entries, lost wagers, or lost data, arising from your use of the Service.
Our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) 50 US dollars.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
11. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify us against claims, losses and reasonable legal costs arising from your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the Service, or your violation of any law or third-party right.
12. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms, suspected fraud or chargeback abuse, or where required by law. You may stop using the Service at any time. Sections covering intellectual property, disclaimers, liability, indemnity and dispute resolution survive termination.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be announced by email or in-product at least 14 days before taking effect. Continuing to use the Service after that date constitutes acceptance.
14. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. The exclusive venue for disputes is the state and federal courts located in Ohio, except where mandatory consumer-protection law in your country of residence gives you the right to bring proceedings locally.
